Energy Absorbing Technology

GRAB-sp is the only US Department of State K8/K4 certified Energy Absorbing Security Barrier. GRAB-sp's patented energy absorbing technology is designed to work across a spectrum of vehicle weights and speeds. This allows GRAB-sp to stop anything from a 15,000 lb truck to a 4,400 lb pickup or 1,800 lb car going 50 mph in 3 feet or less. With GRAB there is minimal damage to the vehicle and facility making it a reduced risk barrier system.

 

Quick System Redeployment

GRAB-sp has continually been proven to be reusable after an impact. This feature is beneficial to replacement costs and facility operation. With other systems such as wedge barriers and bollard systems there is a significant replacement expense and downtime after an impact. It is possible to clear the scene and reset the GRAB-sp in approximately 20 minutes. This allows for continued operation of the facility and traffic control.

 

Speed Smart System Activation

With the flexible design of GRAB-sp it adjusts stopping distances to meet client requirements. This enables it to meet any requirements across varying locations and access control point layouts. Hydraulic bollards and wedge barriers never know if the vehicle or cargo will spin or deflect uncontrollably off the barrier.
