The 1st Annual Homeland Security Awards Program is organized by GSN: Government Security News. These awards have been created to honor the dedicated government officials at federal, state and local levels who have created and executed effective security programs across the country, along with leading vendors in IT and physical security who have researched, developed and supplied innovative security solutions during the past year. |

USR won the Government Security News (GSN) Homeland Security Award for Best Crash Barriers (Gates, Fences, Bollards, Guard Booths, Blast Resistant Products). The award was based upon USR's GRAB® (Ground Retractable Automobile Barrier) system, winning a competitive category that was narrowed to 3 finalists

Each year, Inc. magazine ranks the top 5000, fastest-growing private companies in the United States. USR achieved a position in the 2009 rankings, placing 852 out of a total 5,000 companies. ASIS invited exhibitors at the ASIS International 55th Annual Seminar and Exhibits to submit new technology, product or service solutions for evaluation and judging for the first annual Accolades competition.
A team of judges representing end users and experts in security technologies evaluated more than 130 entries before selecting the top 10 winners. ASIS Accolades are solutions oriented, not product specific.
